I'll practice my best to explain how I do it, just I don't really do annihilation special. ^^;

So yous gotta commencement with a head, of course.

Then you lot gotta describe the hairline, which tin can either exist apartment or pointed, depending on your character.

Then you gotta make up one's mind where yous wanna put the part–on the left, in the eye, or on the correct.

If you want it parted in the center, information technology can go over either the left or right ear.

I left them transparent so you can meet the caput underneath, but here they are without being see-through.

As for cartoon the actual hair, I unremarkably just start with a blob shape (indicated in carmine) then add together or erase details (in bluish) afterwards.

The length of the hair is up to you, cuz it tin either be long or curt.

Now, things get a little trickier when you draw the pilus from the side, only the aforementioned rules apply. Just find where the part is, take the hair sprout out from in that location in a big hulk, and then add details.

I hope this helps. ^^; If all else fails, you can always attempt to discover a photo reference. I actually have this haircut, so I simply look in the mirror, lol.

Hopefully I tin can explain my process adequately. Hither goes!

Y'all wanna start off SUPER SIMPLE. Just a base frame or skeleton for your trunk. Keep it loose. This is just to go an idea of the pose you lot want & to make sure all the parts are in the right place. Besides, a frame will work for either a male or female body too, since it'southward literally but the skeleton.
Make sure information technology'southward clear as well. Meaning, if you can't really tell what an arm or a leg is doing or which way they're going, maybe change it up a flake. Depict the pose from a different angle or re-position a limb or two. Also, endeavor to brand sure the pose is possible. Don't practice the boobs & butt pose where they're all twisted & bent out of shape. If you lot're not sure, endeavour doing the pose yourself, & if information technology feels unnatural or information technology hurts or you can't do it without falling over, something's clearly not correct. OK, enough about the frame. It's a very important first step, only let'due south move on.

-take breaks. sometimes you need to step away from your drawing & stretch, go a drinkable or a snack, or play a game or something. if y'all're working on a cartoon & it's just non turning out right, have a break. I can't tell you how many times I've been working on something that was getting me frustrated, but later taking a break, I was able to become dorsum into the "groove" of drawing & it came out mode meliorate than if I had forced myself to depict while frustrated.

Sure! Actually, I recall the best way to evidence you is with i of my speedpaint videos.

It shows my whole procedure, from sketch to colors! Everything is done in photoshop, & I commonly but utilize the basic brushes that come with the program. I have a tablet PC (an HP Elitebook 2760p) that I use to depict with, since I can't utilise a plug-in wacom tablet. I've tried using them before, & I but tin't. x_x I similar being able to describe correct on the screen. If you have any other questions, feel free to enquire & i'll do my all-time to answer them! :)
